Booking Your Appointment

Derby Registry Office operates exclusively on an appointment-only basis. You can book appointments by calling 01332 641680 or emailing customerservices@derby.gov.uk. Online booking is available for birth and death registrations through their dedicated booking system. Wedding ceremony bookings require telephone contact to discuss requirements and availability.

Required Documents for Births

When registering a birth in Derby, bring the following:

• Valid photo identification for all attending parties
• Baby’s full details (name, date of birth, place of birth, sex)
• Mother’s complete information (name, maiden name, place of birth, address, occupation)
• Father’s details if being registered (name, place of birth, occupation)
• Date of marriage if parents are married
• Proof of address for registration purposes
• Any relevant medical documentation if applicable

Certificate Costs and Processing

All certificates cost £12.50 each. Certificates can be posted 2nd class or collected from Royal Oak House after five working days. Payment by debit or credit card is required (cash only accepted in certain circumstances). No facilities are available for copy certificates to be ordered in person at the Registry Office.

Parking and Accessibility

One bridal car is permitted to park outside the front door on ceremony days (permit issued upon arrival). The building maintains its historic character while providing modern accessibility features. Derby city centre offers various parking options within walking distance of Market Place.
